Club Xtreme in new hands

POPULAR SOUTH COAST NIGHTSPOT Club Xtreme has been sold.
Manager Danny Mansour told the DAILY NATION yesterday previous owners Habib and Marian Elias sold the club in Worthing, Christ Church, to the Cottrell family of Britain, who now reside in Barbados.
While the Cottrells had taken over management, Mansour said the name would be unchanged, and the close to 30 part-time and full-time employees would be rehired when Club Xtreme opens its door for the rebirth on October 3, following some "minor refurbishment".
The 1 000 members would also enjoy the same benefits as in the past, with some extras.
"We will honour them (members) as well as create a new membership package with them to see how we can facilitate our members," he stated.
"We're also looking at new areas in terms of new packages or new events planning where we will be targeting a few other markets as well as corporate accounts," Mansour disclosed.
The former owners said they were pleased the Club Xtreme legacy of the past six years would be continued through the new proprietors.
"We are overjoyed that all the work and enthusiasm that has been put into Xtreme was not in vain. We are also happy that our customers are not going to be disappointed that we have closed and that a significant number of Barbadian jobs have been saved," Marian Elias said.
"We are impressed with the number of ideas and plans they have for the club and we are confident they will continue not only to provide for our existing patrons, but will widen the appeal of the club by providing many other types of entertainment that are currently lacking in Barbados."
The Elias management ended last weekend with two massive fetes on Friday and Saturday night. (YB)
