Great Video - so do they lay their eggs in May then hatch in September? or does it vary?

We had a thread about turtles on here at the beginning of last September.

I had seen turtle tracks on the beach via the Mullins Webcam. The previous day I had seen a turtle going down the beach and into the sea at Mullins (it was at about 8.30am Barbados time). This was strange because they usually lay their eggs at night.

I contacted the turtle preservation people in Barbados and they said that a turtle had been stuck under the restaurant and it had been released. So that might have been the turtle that I saw - because there were 2 men on the beach and they looked as though they were ushering it into the sea.

If you click on the following link you can see a video of baby turtles that have just hatched and are heading for the sea - on Mullins Beach.

What a great article KNRX.
On my very first visit to Barbados in 1976 I witnessed a guy pushing a wheelbarrow with a very large turtle inside. It was flapping around on its back and that image has sadly always stuck with me. Thank god that won't be seen again.
