Mural!! You have a picture of the backside of a man, a gas canister and a blank wall with a few trees painted on the side. Are the giant umbrellas still there?

Well, this is a sad story and I am not sure of any of the details. It seems that after spending a ton of money upgrading the environs, including adding the famous mural - http://j.mp/YihSS3 -, Mango's lost its decades old lease because the owner raised the rent and Mango's refused to pay or is/was contesting. A new tenant is in the space but the giant umbrellas are still there but folded. Mango's "apparently" has moved next door in the open air in front of the mural. I don't know how often it opens. I happened to be by the mural a few Fridays ago and took the photo above while they were setting up for the evening. I have a few more shots if people are interested. Btw, the "gas canister" is actually the bottom of a large circular gas griddle.

I think that there is a bit more to this story. From what I understand Pierre was paying quite a low rent which hadn't been raised for a few years. And, then the rent didn't arrive!
