This was posted in the Nation News Wednesday 25Mar09. (first I've heard of this, but I don't live on that coast sooo...)

"The Holetown Beach Improvements Project has started.
Due to construction associated with this project, a section of the Holetown Beach will be closed from March to October 2009.
The Coastal Zone Management Unit regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks members of the public for their cooperation and understanding.
Carol A. Gaskin
Information Officer."

Now.. don't shoot the messenger please. I only report what I read. It doesn't say which part of the beach..
here is their website. http://www.coastal.gov.bb/
and here is the info on the project.. www.coastal.gov.bb/pageselect.cfm?page=75
Hope this helps.. (still don't know which side they are working on.. but.. there it is).

I don't really know enough but my feeling is why can't they just leave things as they are..the beaches were fine until people started messing about with them.

The problem is "as they are" isn't necessarily how "they were."

Frankie, I meant 'as they were' as in if they hadn't started messing about with them, as I remember them from happier times mainly the life span of Kings Beach.
