Ok folks thinking of 2014 here, I am getting that time for a change feeling coming on, which usually means visiting a different island, Sandy loves Bim so I have told her for a change lets try try the west coast, so I am asking you experts where to stay on the west coast, near but not on a beach, some place where we can go for walks, must have a pool, studio or 1 bedroom, walking distance to everything, $128 a night is our limit any suggestions of where to stay and what to do there :?:

While almost every place I have been looking at for our upcoming vacation is directly on a beach (and I cannot imagine why you wouldn't want that :? ), there's one very nice Holetown place I found that has 14 rentals perpendicular to the beach, easy access to beach when you want it, a nice little pool... Palm Beach Condos http://tinyurl.com/a3znj8c -- and I think all but the beachfront condo #1 is in your price range. Have heard some extremely nice things about it especially from another forum member who lives there half the year.

Not sure that is your style but thought I'd pass on the info.
Have fun looking for a place! To me that's an enjoyable task! 8)

Thanks NJrktect, cost is the reason Palm Beach is $180 a night which is out of reach of our budget

Will-Sandy-- It's only about $130 a night if you go between April 15th and December 15th.
(You didn't say what time of year...
I agree that September thru November may not be the right time to pick since a lot of places shut down.
Earlier in the “off-season” would seem to be a nice alternative, and I have found that air fare from many major airports is quite reasonable for April-June...)

Beyond that, I'm sorry I can't give any other recommendations since all my research has been on beachfront locations.
But as far as the other aspects of your wishlist, I think something in/near Holetown would suit you...
I am sure others could recommend some good choices. But be patient; I've noticed that forum activity has been slow lately. (And I'm not even a very active member!)

Look at some of the apartments at Sugar Hill, they have all you ask for and should be the right price. If not, you can always make an offer.

Sugar Hill is lovely but you would be dependant on taxis or a hire car.
The apartment we stayed in at Sugar Hill was quite expensive in February.

Sugar Hill would be more like $300 at least at that time of year as Sue says. Have you looked on the relaxing retreats website they seem to have some more affordable properties. Have you also tried a search on homeaway with your dates and budget, that could throw something up. I just did that and a few come up. This one is $140 a night http://www.homeaway.co.uk/p1001761#rates or this one meets your rates too http://www.homeaway.co.uk/p436855#rates

Try www.holidaylettings.co.uk/Barbados they have lots of rental properties in every price range. I know a number of people that advertise with them.

Hi Will Sandy. Have a look at this site which along with Palm Beach Condos, offers quite a few alternatives on the west Coast.

Irene who runs the site is the most helpful person you could meet.
