I have been looking at this as a rental for an upcoming vacation (May/June). Does anyone know much about it beyond what we can see from their website? http://james-bay.com/html/pavilion.html

It looks like a fairly unique living experience with the living space being outdoors under a canopy or tent-like covering reportedly directly on a beach, and an air conditioned bedroom behind that. The rate is fair and I like what I see... But there are no images from the beach so I am not sure if there even is a beach or just some rocks along the shore...? I also cannot tell what the "neighbors" are like.

From poking around on Google Maps and Earth, my best guess is that it's located somewhere north of the Lone Star and south of St. Alban's Church and Reeds Bay...? That's not much to go on. Does anyone have anything more helpful about the location and the accommodations?

Thanks!

I don't know if you have seen this link but worth a look at

The Garden Vacation Rental - VRBO 146148 - 2 BR St. James ...

www.vrbo.com/146148

I have passed this place many times and it is in a nice spot. You are 1 mile away from Ramshackles beach bar, they have beach parties and BBQ's and all reasonably priced.
Bombas beach bar/restaurant is also quite local to these apartments which is typically Bajan.
You are correct in that the apartments are one mile north of Lone Star.

SUE,
Thanks for the info and link! I had not seen that VRBO listing and started to get excited until I realized it's the same place as one I looked at under a different site... and I think the VRBO one may be out of date since the "official" website at james-bay.com shows those two units (#4 & #5) but at MUCH higher rental rates...

I definitely like the apartments, but the beach pavilion seemed to be more unique and affordable, though without a full kitchen which is a drawback as I do like to cook some meals...
I am glad to hear the area is nice. I also wish I had some idea what the place looked like from the beach side...

I am attempting to upload an image that might show where James Bay Apartments & Beach Pavilion are located based on looking at the area about one mile north of the Lone Star and targeting potential buildings...
The two red boxes are my guesses, with the northern one being more likely...
Can any one confirm this?? :?:

Thanks!

From memory it is between Alleynes and St Albans beach.
Lovely stretch of beach there.
