Tell Me What Is In The Picture

What appears to be group of people around the pond, I have seen many times in the late afternoon, but never at any other time of the day. Could it be something other than people?

It almost looks like a rock wall. Could it be the lighting at that time of day?

Sue W., I think you may be correct. I have posted a pic from this morning, which shows the area by the pond shadowed.
Hard to determine if there is a structure there or not, because of the shadow. Afternoon sunlight would brighten the area considerably.
