CORRECTION !! Sorry, that info came from another owner in our complex , but I have just checked with a friend who is on the beach now, and although it is a lot better the work is ongoing, they are just moving about doing bits up and down the beach . I did think it was odd that it had all finished so far ahead of time. I do believe the main heavy work is finished though.

I'll report nearer to your dates Misty, but I would personally prefer MB to Waves any day, regardless of the work.

Today's report is that there are Pile Drivers right up the Creek next door to Mango Bay and two Cranes on the Groyn out to sea from next door to Palm Beach on the other side of Mango bay, so, as I suspected, the work is very much on-going I'm afraid.

Exactly Sue ! The owners of our condos have suffered greatly also as we have had to close since May apart from one greedy person !!! and of course, those used as Hotel rooms by MB --------------much in use by all accounts as the Hotel was more affected by the noise than we were.

Our first guests return in August, but are fully aware of what they might be in for. We are praying for continued good weather so the work can complete ahead of time, and we actually have a beach, but it's full of MB guests because they don't . I shall be able to give a more accurate update in approx. 2 and a half weeks.

I can't believe what I am reading here.

You are comparing your loss of income on a bunch of second and no doubt in some instances third homes to the plight of people who have no other source of income than the small return from their respective businesses.

How bloody crass.

Well I'm afraid I phrased that badly but you're missing the point here a bit , Guests in condos means work for maids ,and laundry ladies, Taxis who bring and take the guests from the Airport and back, and on Trips around the Island, or just to a restaurant.

They give work to the very guys on the beach who are featured in the article, one of whom is a good friend of mine. They eat and drink at Surfside, and frequent local bars shops and restaurants. They supply our agents with an income,---------------no bookings, no income. I was not thinking solely of the income of the owners, which is in fact very little, but the far reaching affects of the beach work and that fact that we have closed our doors for nearly three months.

ps At least we closed and didn't pretend to our guests that everything is hunky dory !

Nobody is missing any point...but thank you so much for the lesson in Bajan economics.

Oh dear!

Turfy is the one with her feet on the ground and is quite aware of what is happening in Holetown. She, of all people, is quite aware of how things are affecting local tourism operators. Perhaps the post came over badly but I am certain that Turfy is not only concerned about her rental income but, knowing her, is more concerned about what is happening to the income of her local friends.

Regards

Bertha
