A few days ago ,while trying to log on to the forum,I had this weird message come on screen ,an sql error occurred please contact the Administrator.Anyway I fired an email to Frank, So I assumed the site was down or something, but then it got me to thinking, what if the BTA suddenly stopped or no longer existed .
I know its only a website ,and things change ,life changes all the time and people move on,some of us have met up exchanged contact details etc ,some of us havent, but even though I havent met any of you personally, although I hope to meet a lot of you in the future, ,Ive had hours of enjoyment and fun in your company and would miss it a lot ,if it suddenly stopped.
Anyway to cut a long story short,I thought it might be an idea if those of us that wanted to, could swap email addresses ,by pm of course,
I d be interested to know everybodys views on this.

Good idea Steve but I'm sure Frankie will do all he can to keep the site going.
I think we have him to thank for setting this forum up and enabling us all to have made friendships because of it.

Whatever you want me to do Steve, just let me know! I do agree with Sue's post, that Frankie will do all he can do to keep the site up!

Freeforums made some upgrades over the weekend that caused most forums to be down for about 7 hours yesterday. They seem to have the issue fixed. If you are ever having a difficult time you can check their support forum at http://support.freeforums.org/index.php or Google freeforum support.

If the website ever goes down permanently, I suggest that we all fly immediately to Barbados and we'll meet at the rum shop across from the airport. Just order a drink and wait for the others to arrive.

Good idea in theory, but not all want all to know, so if we do give our emails to those we want to they must be confidential I think. How would it work? if someone asks do you give them your email or risk offence ..do you send it to someone who may not want it?

I would only give a third person an email that I have after I have obtained permission to pass it on. If there is anyone who wants my email address just "pm" me...if I 'know' you I will give it...if I have never 'met' you in chat then I probably won't give it until you are 'vetted' by another poster and I WILL ask around from other posters about you! It is strictly a personal preference if you wish to participate and I don't think there is anyone who is going to get their knickers in a knot over whether or not someone opts not to participate. It is merely a way to keep in touch should the need arise. Some folks may want to only give their address to one person to keep on file and that is fine.

I agree with the rest of you about Frank s efforts in getting this forum going, and as oldphogey says, just a way of keeping in touch should the need ever arise.
