A memorable meal can often be the icing on the cake of a luxury hotel experience, which is why The House and Tamarind Cove Hotel, two members of the Elegant Hotels Group in Barbados, have welcomed Norman Grant as their new Executive Chef.
Grant joins the hotels after a 14-year stint as executive chef and catering manager at the Barbados Beach Club. He has also held executive positions at Le Sport Hotel Spa in St. Lucia and Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, both five-star hotels. Grant is the winner of numerous gold medals from the Bajan Table Dining Festival, an annual event showcasing fine dining and culinary skills.
In his new role at Tamarind Cove and The House, Grant will direct all kitchen activities from food preparation, menu design, events catering and staff training. Tamarind Cove's three restaurants, Sasso, Tangiers and the Oasis Bar hold confidence in his abilities to concoct some fine Caribbean cuisine. Sasso is open for dinner only while Tangiers additionally offers breakfast and lunch. Oasis Bar caters more to light snacks and drinks by the pool. We're told that Grant will bring his culinary style to the traditional Champagne breakfast at The House, served with light fare in the open-air living room. Suggest The House for your romantic clients, as it is an adults-only property.
