Did I miss something :?: :?: :?:

Quote:
"I feel sorry for the owner of this beautiful property as right next door the Sandridge that once was is now leveled to the ground and an enormous building program is about to start which is going to last for a good few years. It will be difficult to promote this cottage and also Leamington Pavilion as we would not be able to guarantee a quiet relaxing time, but if you did decide to take the chance, we would be able to offer a substantial discount and you would be staying in one of the premium places to stay in the Caribbean." - more - http://ezinearticles.com/?id=2377454

Frankie what a shame such a beautiful house in what was a lovely spot.
The owners must be devastated we used to chat with them as they walked the beach, lovely couple.
So much for Sandridge becoming a car park!

I kind of suspected it wasn't going to be a parking lot but the idea of another "enormous building" in that location scares me, as if the groynes aren't scary enough.

How can they start something new, with so many half built projects?

My husband doubted the car park story from day one, beach front position in an ideal location.
The groynes must be a real worry for you.

The big worry may be if the developers make the owners of Leamngton an offer & if they can't rent they may consider it.....

I agree with SueW - they should either prevent new building until all the others south & west have been finished or get the developers to provide some kind of bond/guarantee that they will have enough funds to finish the project!!!
Soon Barbados is going to have more half built hotels/condos than finished and open ones!!!

Just had a thought....on beaches "which is best"...maybe the thing is if you like say, Ft. Lauderdale/Miami with those wide featureless but big beaches you may prefer that sort but if pretty coves & natural look is what you like then the West coast is more your thing???

So what happened to the nice speech Thompson made saying " There will be no more large Building developments allowed on the coast " Or was this permission given during the reign of Arthur-----------------regrettably I doubt it :(

A little birdie (my goddove    ) just told me that what's going up on the old Sandridge site is another The Sandsesque ultra-lux condo complex. Like The Sands there will be only five (5) apartments (The Sands actually has six), but they will be twice as large as The Sands apartments - 20K sq. ft. instead of 10K sq. ft. Now we know why they are hogging the sands with the groynes.

so we have got Sugar Hill,Sandy Lane, The Sands and the four seasons to name just a few - all for the multi millionaires amongst us  but they dont seem to be finding buyers do they?. Now there is another one!!
Why do they want to build more?
